News from the Hill (ud) and it is very surprising news indeed.
This is not a joke.
Apparently the U has left the door open for Kav to return next season.
A protocol is set in place and includes a ratification vote from the players.
I was certain we had seen the last of Kav but I have heard from people in the know that it is posible for Kav to return to school and the team next season.
Again, this is not me trying to be funny but rather from someone in the administration themselves.
Makes sense to me. He is only suspended one year, and since he hasn’t played any games, he retains his NCAA eligibility. He still has to graduate, and he can still ball, might as well go back to school if he is permitted and play on the team again to finish out his career here.
TMan, that just can’t be true. He technically could re-apply (I guess), but I have to think his chances of being readmitted are slim to none. Also, I kinda feel like Kav would like to move on.
He doesn’t have to re-apply to anything. He is still admitted to the university.I’m telling you I spoke to someone who works on the hill in the athletic department. I will speak to him again today for claification but the thing that shocked me was his tone. It is clear that had Kav not played on the b-ball team, he would NOT have been suspended. And he indicated that the door is clearly open for Matt to return. Including a vote by the players in order to reinstate him. That came from him. Now what I got from my short conversation–reading between the lines I think that NOBODY on the hill belives Matt raped or was even slighty involved with ANYTHING illegal. I don’t know Kav. I don’t know what happened. But I was shocked @ the tone of our conversation. Perhaps because I thought there was a zero chance of Kav ever returning. It seems to me the U felt great pressure. Perhaps its the jerry sanducky times in which we live.
Gem comment from the DDN:
“I’ve read the entire Code of Conduct, and nowhere in there does it prohibit a basketball player from masturbating on an unsuspecting freshman. “
I couldn’t believe that there was actually an amusing comment on the DDN site. The initial article also had a comment about how people from Centerville are a bunch of droopy-panted thugs, which I thought was fairly brilliant given the general racial discourse of certain Flyer fans.
During the 97/98 school year, there was a serial masturbator on campus. He struck in various buildings on campus and througought the ghetto. Based on his oft-reported family ties to UD, one has to wonder if that guy was a relative.

I had no Family Ties within th UD administration or otherwise. However, I did rub a few out to Justine Bateman during the TBS re-run marathonswhile studying in KU. And by the way, it wasn’t all over campus as you claim. As if you could really get wood at Marycrest!! Anyways, thinking of you…..

2 anecdotes from a college student who does not attend UD, but spends a considerable amount of time on campus:
First of all, from talking to my female friends who attend UD, the basketball team has a definite reputation as “rapers”. Apparently most (freshman) girls know better than to hang around the basketball team. The general idea is that the basketball players do whatever they want (with women), and don’t get in trouble.
Secondly, I actually ran into MK on the night of August 18, which happened to be UD’s move-in day for freshmen. He was blocking the sidewalk standing behind a Gandalf cutout screaming “YOU SHALL NOT PASS”. Classic Kav.
I predict the Blackburn Review will become a dead blog at the end of this season. There’s been a very real drop off in output here vs. the weeks leading up to previous seasons. Life moves on, sometimes people outgrow their prior affiliations and no longer have the drive to continue a project….understandable, yet disappointing.

I am very disappointed this isn’t a “Timmy Wabs” creation.

If that’s a press conference, I’ve held many with hundreds of clients

Now that is gold.

Kavs just added “Tears of a Clown” to his Spotify “Me Sad” play list.

Yep
No way, dude. No fucking way.
Or sometimes people get to old to run a raunchy gossip blog about the personal lives of 18 to 22 year old college kids and not feel a tad creepy.
