Like David Hasselhoff before him, Brian Roberts used Germany to reclaim his rightful place on the throne. After bouncing around Deutschland for a few seasons (including a year in Israel), B-Rob has signed a deal with the Hornets.
The New Orleans Hornets announced today that they have signed guard Brian Roberts. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Roberts, who played in all five Summer League games for the Hornets (three starts) averaged 13.8 points, 2.2 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 27.4 minutes per game while shooting 50.0% from the field, 54.5% from three-point range and 93.8% from the line. The 6’1’’ Toledo, OH native played for Brose Baskets Bamberg in Germany last season, leading the team to the German National Championship. The Dayton alum also won the German League title with Bamberg in 2009-10 and 2010-11.
Roberts will wear #22 for New Orleans.
During his stay in the Gem City, Roberts was known for his clutch shooting and penile proclivity. He was able to take white poison to the next level – impregnating a girl yet shaking off the ill effects to achieve his goals. Unprecedented in these circles.

Whoa, I know he’s a bball player but he kinda seemed like he would have that nonchallant attitude towards women and sex. He was a little before my time so I didn’t get a chance to see him in action.
I can’t help but to recall the Gregory apologists declaring that B-Rob wasn’t a true point guard thus giving reasons why Brian Gregroy’s squad played as poorly as it did. I said at the time I thought B-rob was one of the best POINT guards in the a-10. Turns out Gregory was just what I said he was. A great assistanst but one shitty ass head coach. B-rob is good enough to play the point in the NBA–but wasn’t good enough in the eyes of some to play point @ UD. ????
This is great news about one of my all time favorite Flyers!
Very happy for b-rob. I remember sitting on the court watching UD pound Pitt into the ground. B-rob couldn’t miss. Too bad he didn’t have much else around him (Binnie hustled though), and BG had his patented A-10 collapse in a failed attempt to make the tourney. B-rob is probably my favorite player right up there with Ryan Perryman.
Remember the day B-Rob’s son was born…the only reason I knew he was born was because we were playing St Boneventure and the only way to watch it was through St. B’s website. During halftime, 2 upstate New York yokels filming were audibly talking about how B-Rob’s kid was born and he still made it to the game.
A damn shame he never had the pieces around him he deserved. Cheers B-Rob!
It’s not really fair to say UD collapsed his senior year. I mean, they did, but they lost Wright, which hurt, and Little, which was the crushing blow. That team at full health was really, really good. Take your second best player out for a month in January/February, and a dynamic freshman out for rest of the regular season in December, and you will not have the same team. All of the sudden Binnie, Sandoval, and Thiago fucking Cordiero became key players. Given the team they put on the floor, 8-8 in the A10 was about right. Ugh.
That year sucked, and so perfectly described what it’s like to be a UD fan. Even when the stars seem to align, the kick to the nuts is still coming. That team, even with BG coaching, was Sweet 16 caliber. Their only losses at full strength were at Creighton and at Ohio State. They ran Louisville out of Freedom Hall and dumptrucked Pitt. What a shame.
Hopefully he was expelled for impregnating Chrissy Hester.
